Welcome to the digital platform of Emmanuel United Church of Maryland Young Adults Ministry ("EUCMD", "we", "us", or "our"), accessible at ya.eucmaryland.org. By accessing, browsing, registering for an event, submitting forms, or accessing our leader portal, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to these Terms, please refrain from using this website.

2. Eligibility & Minors

This platform and our Young Adults gatherings are primarily intended for individuals 18 years of age and older. If you are between 13 and 17 years old, you may only access this website and register for ministry events with the involvement and explicit consent of your parent or legal guardian. This platform is not intended for children under 13.

3. Community Standards & Code of Conduct

As a Christian ministry community, we are committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and Christ-honoring environment. When interacting through this platform, RSVPing for events, submitting messages, or participating in small groups, you agree to:

• Treat all attendees, leaders, and visitors with dignity, love, and respect.
• Refrain from submitting defamatory, harassing, obscene, abusive, hateful, or sexually explicit content.
• Never impersonate church staff, elders, pastoral leaders, or other members.
• Never attempt to probe, scan, or breach the security of our application, or introduce malicious code, bots, or unauthorized automated scripts.

EUCMD reserves the right to terminate accounts, cancel event registrations, or restrict access to anyone who violates these community standards.

All sermon notes, discipleship study guides, audio recordings, graphic layouts, and website copy are the property of Emmanuel United Church of Maryland or used under permission:

• Permitted Use: You may view, download, and print discipleship resources and scriptures for personal spiritual study and non-commercial fellowship.
• Typography: Google Fonts (Plus Jakarta Sans, Inter) utilized across this site are open-source and licensed under the SIL Open Font License (OFL).
• Photography & Imagery: Community photographs depict real gatherings of Emmanuel United Church of Maryland or royalty-free stock imagery used in good faith. You may not reproduce or harvest member photos for commercial use.
• Open-Source Software Notices: This platform is powered by open-source technologies including Node.js, Express, Tailwind CSS, Vue 3, bcryptjs, and EJS, licensed under permissive MIT and Apache 2.0 open-source software licenses.

6. Payments, Subscriptions & Recurring Charges

EUCMD Young Adults does not operate recurring membership billing, paid premium subscriptions, or auto-renewing financial tiers. All regular church meetings and digital discipleship materials are provided free of charge. Any voluntary contributions are handled as charitable donations under 501(c)(3) guidelines.

THIS PLATFORM AND ALL MATERIALS, SERVICES, AND RESOURCES ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL EMMANUEL UNITED CHURCH OF MARYLAND, ITS PASTORS, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, VOLUNTEERS, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THIS WEBSITE, PARTICIPATION IN GATHERINGS, OR RELIANCE ON ANY CONTENT PRESENTED.

8. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Maryland, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any legal action or proceeding arising under or relating to these Terms shall be instituted exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Montgomery County, Maryland.
