Refund & Donation Policy

1. Free Community Gatherings & Event RSVPs

Our standard events require only an RSVP so we can accommodate seating and hospitality.

• Cost: $0.00 (Completely Free).
• Cancellation: If your plans change, you can cancel your RSVP at any time directly on our Events page using your registration email. There are never cancellation penalties.

2. Retreats, Conferences & Special Excursions

When a special overnight retreat or camp incurs external costs (such as lodging, campground rental, or catered meals), the total registration cost will always be displayed upfront with no surprise add-on fees at checkout.

Special Exception: In the event of a documented medical emergency, sudden illness, or bereavement, full credit or refunds will be honored upon request to leadership.

3. Charitable Giving, Tithes & Offerings

Financial giving to Emmanuel United Church of Maryland is voluntary charitable giving in worship to God. Under United States Internal Revenue Code (501(c)(3)), charitable contributions are generally non-refundable once receipted.

Erroneous or Duplicate Donations: If you made an unintentional error in the donation amount or experienced a duplicate transaction due to a browser glitch, please notify us within 15 days of the transaction date at finance@eucmaryland.org. We will promptly investigate and issue a complete refund back to the original payment method.

4. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund for a retreat or an accidental transaction:

1. Send an email to contact@eucmaryland.org with the subject "Refund Request - [Your Name]".
2. Include your name, email, event name/transaction date, and brief reason for the request.
3. Our ministry team will review and respond within 2 to 3 business days. Approved refunds are credited back to your original payment method in 5 to 7 business days.
