Water Baptism
What Is Baptism?
Baptism does not save you β Jesus does. Baptism is an act of joyful obedience to the One who saved you. Before Jesus ascended, He gave this command: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" (Matthew 28:19).
Peter declared on the day of Pentecost: "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins" (Acts 2:38). Baptism is your outward picture of an inward reality.
When you go under the water, it represents the burial of your old life β buried with Christ. When you come up out of the water, it represents resurrection β raised to walk in newness of life (Romans 6:3-4).
Why Get Baptized?
First and most importantly: because Jesus did it (Matthew 3:13-17). If Jesus considered baptism essential to fulfill all righteousness, it matters deeply for every believer.
Baptism is your public confession that you belong to Christ in a culture that tries to define your identity.
Who Should Be Baptized?
If you have made a personal decision to follow Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you are ready to be baptized. It does not require years of perfection, only genuine faith in Jesus.
What to Expect
Baptism Sunday is a celebration! You will be guided by leaders, declare your faith, and be baptized in water while your church family rejoices and prays over you.
